ACC Faculty Travel to Tamil Nadu, India

ACC sociology professors Rennison Lalgee and Sam Echevarria-Cruz are off to Tamil Nadu, India, this week for three weeks of research and site visits.  The two ACC faculty are collaborating in developing a sociology course on social problems in India and an associated study abroad program.  They will start their India journey in Chennai and then make their way to Madurai.  Lalgee was awarded a $1,500 curriculum development grant by ACC International Programs.  He was one of two faculty recipients of the new Internationalizing Curriculum, Courses, and Instruction Grant launched in 2013 to support faculty efforts to globalize teaching and learning at ACC.  The two faculty will be posting on this blog during their time in India.  Lalgee is particularly keen to introduce Echevarria-Cruz to the trials of safely navigating the streets of a teeming Indian metropolis as well as "to eat idli and dosa [at the Murugan Idli Shop] as often as I can in my old neighborhood."
